Salary Range $70,401 to $105,601.  Assists with all County functions including Public Service Authority operations, coordination of human services, team building, regional efforts and strategic planning.  Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree and progressive supervisory responsibility required.

Job Description

Pulaski County is accepting applications for a Webmaster with the Information Technology Dept.  Applicants must have an Associate’s Degree (Bachelor’s preferred) with additional specialized technical training in web design and development; Proficient in HTML, HTML5, ASP, .NET, CSS, PHP, JavaScript, AJAX, XML and other web technologies and standards; Knowledge of IIS and web based authentication (Basic, Forms, Claims Based, Windows); Preferred requirements include working with Google Analytics, WebTrends, Social Media campaigns, Photoshop and Search Engine Optimization; understanding of multimedia, social media, mobile and emerging technologies, as well as the application of these tools; Graphic design experience using tools such as Adobe Creative Suite and Expression Studio; Organizational skills in file management with a large variety of file types; Knowledge of Microsoft web server and development products (i.e. Expression Studio, Visual Studio, InfoPath, IIS and IIS plugins); Attention to detail and strong organizational and communication skills; Ability to work well with others; Experience with backup, recovery, planning, e-commerce, online payments, and security procedures also a plus; Acceptable documents to establish identity and employment authorization and the ability to pass a drug, alcohol and background check; A portfolio of previous work will need to be forwarded with application.

Outreach/Youth Services Assistant

Pulaski County Library System

Department:  Youth Services

Reports To: Youth Services Librarian/Library Director

Supervision Exercised: May supervise volunteers

Supervision Received: Receives minimal instruction/supervision in regard to daily work duties after initial training and orientation.  Works closely with and is responsible to the Youth Services Librarian.

Classification (FLSA): Non-exempt: Part-Time, 15 hours/week

Job Summary:  Duties include the provision of library services to preschool children, their teachers and care providers in preschool and daycare settings and parents and guardians.  This includes the planning and implementation of story time programs.  Duties also include services to school aged children and young adults (teens) including programs and Summer Reading Program.  This position will work closely with the Youth Services Librarian, assisting her in providing services to the youth of the community.  Some evening and Saturday work may be required.  Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:  The Youth Services Assistant must possess at minimum a high school diploma; college experience is preferred with library experience or work experience with children, parents, schools and daycare centers as well as knowledge of children’s literature. Possess good oral and written communication skills and the ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions as well as basic math and computer skills. Must have a valid Virginia driver’s license, a good driving record and be able to drive in the course of library business. Must be able to pass a drug test and background check.

Physical Requirements:  Frequent bending, stooping, standing, walking, reaching and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds.  The position also requires constant use of the visual and auditory senses and skill with office equipment.

Convenience Center Attendant
Job Description

The Pulaski County PSA is hiring for a part-time convenience center attendant (29 hours per week) to staff one of the PSA’s solid waste drop site locations.  This position directs and assists citizens in disposing of household trash, recyclables, metals, appliances, paper products, glass, plastics, tires, brush, and other items.  Ensures that waste is in the proper containers and the drop site grounds free from trash and debris.  Must be able to carry up to 75 pounds and stoop, bend, or stand for extended periods of time and be available on weekends.

Beginning wage is $8.00 per hour.  Requires a high school diploma or GED and pass a criminal background check and drug test.

Telecommunications/Switch Engineer
Job Description

Pulaski County is accepting applications for a Telecommunications/Switch Engineer with the Information Technology Dept.  Applicants must have an Associate’s Degree (Bachelor’s preferred) with additional specialized training equivalent to CCNA, CNA, MCSE and demonstrated ability to perform assigned technical/engineering tasks, with five or more years’ experience.

Applicant must be proficient in designing and installing network software, servers, and switches, maintaining networks, updating network software, resolving software/hardware conflicts, and backing up servers. Knowledge of Cisco switches and software will be a strong plus. Willingness to deal with changing expectations, shifting priorities and new technologies.  Experience with troubleshooting optical and analog circuit problems, analog and digital phone sets, and an ability to administer telephone software features. Experience in administering converged voice/data networks. Experience with backup, recovery, planning, and security procedures also a plus. Demonstrates initiative, commitment, and flexibility to work unpredictable hours as necessary. Proven success in working effectively in a team environment without direct supervision.

Beginning salary range is $33,864 - $50,796 depending on qualifications. Visitor Center Attendant

The County of Pulaski is seeking to fill a part-time position at the Visitor Center. The primary duties include providing assistance and handling inquires from the public in person, via email, and/or phone pertaining to activities or general information about Pulaski County.   Attendant also records reservations for local parks, making electronic posts to website and assists in maintaining web pages. This position is for Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday of each week for 8 hours per day. Applicants interested in working Sundays only are encouraged to apply. Visitor Center hours are 9am to 5pm.  The starting wage is $8.25 per hour and there are no health or insurance benefits associated with this position.

Part Time Line Services Technician
New River Valley Airport

The New River Valley Airport in Dublin is seeking an individual for a part time line service technician position with the primary responsibilities of refueling aircraft, towing aircraft into and out of hangars, marshalling aircraft to designated parking spaces, processing sales, and responding to customer needs.  Must have excellent verbal communication skills, license to operate a vehicle in the state of Virginia, must be over the age of 18 and able to lift 50-pounds, and safely perform the tasks of aircraft refueling and towing.    Prefer aircraft refueling or equipment operational experience (such as a forklift, tractor, etc).  Excellent customer service, ability to work independently and dependability a must.

Wages:  $7.50 per hour.  This is a part time position with approximately 20 hours per week on Saturday and Sunday.  Scheduled work hours would be Saturday and Sunday 8:00am – 6:00pm.
