Maintenance Foreman

Pulaski County is hiring for the position of Maintenance Foreman to oversee the county’s building construction, building grounds, and maintenance and repair activities.  This position plans, schedules, directs, and inspects the projects and tasks of the maintenance staff; purchases and maintains materials and equipment; and maintains HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems. 

Must be a high school graduate and prefer applicants with additional community college course work including considerable supervisory experience in construction, repair, and maintenance.  Must possess ability to comprehend plans, specifications, and detailed reports and establish effective working relationships with county departments.

Salary range is $32,251 - $48,377, DOQ.  Benefits include:  health insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, state retirement program, optional vision insurance and 457 retirement program, sick and vacation leave, paid holidays.

Emergency Management Coordinator

Animal Care Specialist

Pulaski County is now accepting applications for a part-time Animal Care Specialist to work at the County Animal Shelter.  This position performs routine semi-skilled custodial work involving the care and cleaning of the animal shelter and ensures that proper cleaning protocol is adhered to by all those participating in cleaning of kennels and cages.  Applicants should have good knowledge of cleaning methods, materials and equipment.  Requires a high school diploma or GED.  Experience working with animals is desirable.  Rate of pay is $8 per hour and working hours are from 8 a.m. to Noon, Mon.-Fri.

Animal Control Officer

Position is responsible for the application and enforcement of local and state animal control regulations including the collecting, boarding, and disposal of animals. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age, possess a valid Virginia driver’s license, and must be a resident of Pulaski County. Applicants must also have 20/20 vision corrected, weight and height proportionate, and be willing to an extensive background investigation, as well as a medical examination.

Utilities Account Clerk

The Pulaski County Public Service Authority is hiring for an Account Clerk to work in its billing and customer service division.  The primary responsibilities are to maintain accounts receivable for water, sewer, and refuse; answer the phone and wait on customers; enter payments and data for billing into computer system; and dispatches appropriate personnel.  Applicants should have excellent verbal customer service skills, computer skills with data entry experience, and must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
